I've wanted to start my own blog for a while now, but never really knew what to talk about. There's nothing interesting about me, I'm a 24 year old unemployed (not by choice) Canadian living in the United States. I immigrated here a about a year ago. I got here on a fiance visa, got married to an amazing man and now I'm living in California.
I was born and raised in Montreal Canada, moved to Edmonton Alberta when I was 12 and moved to California when I was 23. I now live with my husband and my brother in law, which is my husbands twin. We have two cats, one female named Shayne and one male named George, hes our baby and a total little shit. Shayne moved here with me from Edmonton.
I'm trying to get a job in a kitchen, somewhere... anywhere. I co-owned a business in Edmonton with my Mother called "Tastes Like More" PCS (Personal Chef Service). When I moved here the business was ripped apart and sold. Finding a job out here in a kitchen is almost impossible, I get dirty looks from head of kitchens, not be able to believe a female is wanting to work in their kitchen. I found one place that I'm working at getting a job in, getting my foot in the door in you will... More on that later.
In a few weeks I will be going to Edmonton to visit with my family, I'm heading up with my Husband and Brother in law, or as my mom calls them B&B (Brad and Bryan). My mom and dad are coming to visit at Christmas but I needed a fix of home, nothing like going back home again. I'll be having Brad's younger sisters house sit and make sure our cats don't kill each other.
Living out here instead of Canada is completely different, the air, the trees, the people. I've experienced Montreal, bright lights, town is always buzzing, French people, my Aunts and Uncles and Cousins, the food is amazing. I miss the Milk and Bread from Montreal, and the hot dogs... AND poutine!!!
Edmonton is ALL about the beef, I was told it was a lot like Texas, cowboys, land is flat and it's very industrial. It gets cold but it's ALWAYS sunny, the winters are BEAUTIFUL, believe it or not I miss the winters.
California, palm trees, sea salt air, beaches, Mexican food, everyone speaking Spanish, It's so different. The biggest difference is the stars out here, not in the sky... Movie stars, I've seen more in a year here than I ever did in my life time in Canada. Having Paul Walker and Dennis Miller coming into my place of work, not many people in Canada can say that.
Anywho, the 19th's is my first year anniversary and we're trying to figure out where to go or what to do to celebrate, money is tight and it seems like we've done everything already. There was talks of going to L.A west Hollywood but I'm not sure if we are. Still trying to figure out, 11 days left to figure something out.Other than that my week will consist of contacting a few jobs to see if I could get one, watching show premieres like The ultimate fighter, Grey's anatomy, and old favorites like Tosh.0, which we went to see live and was hilarious. Anyways, time to make dinner, more like through a Pizza in the Oven, I'll keep in touch.
